The wait is over \u2014 Bryson Tiller released his self-titled album on Friday (April 5) via RCA Records.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy main goal with this album is for the masses to hear everything I\u2019m capable of doing,\u201d Tiller told Billboard in a recent interview. \u201cSo they give me a chance and stick around as fans. My main goal is that everybody hears it and my guarantee is that you\u2019ll love at least one song from this album. I can guarantee that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 19-track project includes collaborations with Victoria Mon\u00e9t on \u201cPersuasion\u201d and Clara La San on \u201cRandom Access Memory [RAM]\u201d as well as previous singles \u201cOutside,\u201d \u201cCalypso\u201d and \u201cWhatever She Wants.\u201d The lattermost single scored Tiller his first Billboard Hot 100 top 20 single as a lead artist since his 2015 breakthrough debut single \u201cDon\u2019t,\u201d and \u201cWhatever She Wants\u201d also reached No. 8 on Hot R&B\/Hip-Hop Songs.<\/p>\n
But he said \u201cCalypso\u201d is the \u201cmost story-driven song\u201d out of his three previously released singles. \u201cIt is just a movie, top-to-bottom. It\u2019s about a guy going to the club and looking at the guest list and realizing his name is on there next to a girl he used to date. He never forgot her name because she wore her name on her necklace,\u201d Tiller explains. \u201cThey get inside the club and it\u2019s empty. Maybe it\u2019s not empty and it\u2019s a vibe, but it reminds them of a time in the club when it was packed. That song comes on, \u2018Just like magic they playing our song.\u2019 It\u2019s just like, \u2018We gotta get one last dance in.\u2019 The guy\u2019s hoping he can go home with her that night, but it doesn\u2019t end up that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

His eponymous fourth studio album arrives four years after Anniversary, which marked the fifth anniversary of his debut album Trapsoul. Anniversary included the Drake-assisted \u201cOutta Time\u201d and \u201cStill Yours,\u201d featuring Big Sean, on the deluxe edition. The 10-song set peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on Top R&B\/Hip-Hop Albums.<\/p>\n
