Bryson Tiller’s Self-Titled Album Is Finally Here: Stream It Now

His eponymous fourth studio album arrives four years after Anniversary, which marked the fifth anniversary of his debut album Trapsoul.

The wait is over — Bryson Tiller released his self-titled album on Friday (April 5) via RCA Records.

“My main goal with this album is for the masses to hear everything I’m capable of doing,” Tiller told Billboard in a recent interview. “So they give me a chance and stick around as fans. My main goal is that everybody hears it and my guarantee is that you’ll love at least one song from this album. I can guarantee that.”

The 19-track project includes collaborations with Victoria Monét on “Persuasion” and Clara La San on “Random Access Memory [RAM]” as well as previous singles “Outside,” “Calypso” and “Whatever She Wants.” The lattermost single scored Tiller his first Billboard Hot 100 top 20 single as a lead artist since his 2015 breakthrough debut single “Don’t,” and “Whatever She Wants” also reached No. 8 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

But he said “Calypso” is the “most story-driven song” out of his three previously released singles. “It is just a movie, top-to-bottom. It’s about a guy going to the club and looking at the guest list and realizing his name is on there next to a girl he used to date. He never forgot her name because she wore her name on her necklace,” Tiller explains. “They get inside the club and it’s empty. Maybe it’s not empty and it’s a vibe, but it reminds them of a time in the club when it was packed. That song comes on, ‘Just like magic they playing our song.’ It’s just like, ‘We gotta get one last dance in.’ The guy’s hoping he can go home with her that night, but it doesn’t end up that way.”

His eponymous fourth studio album arrives four years after Anniversary, which marked the fifth anniversary of his debut album Trapsoul. Anniversary included the Drake-assisted “Outta Time” and “Still Yours,” featuring Big Sean, on the deluxe edition. The 10-song set peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

LAURYN HILL & DE LA SOUL SHOWN GRAMMY LOVE AS HALL OF FAME TO INDUCT THEIR CLASSIC ALBUMS

LAURYN HILL & DE LA SOUL SHOWN GRAMMY LOVE AS HALL OF FAME TO INDUCT THEIR CLASSIC ALBUMS

Lauryn Hill and De La Soul are among those being recognized by the Recording Academy this year for their contributions to Hip Hop and music.

On Wednesday (March 20), the organization announced that The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998) and 3 Feet High and Rising (1989) will be inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 2024 alongside classics by Donna Summer, Wanda Jackson and more.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Novo Theater in Los Angeles, CA on May 21.

“We’re proud to unveil the diverse mix of recordings entering the Grammy Hall Of Fame in its 50th year,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. shared.

“The music showcased here has played a pivotal role in shaping our cultural landscape, and it’s a true honor to recognize these albums and recordings, along with the profound influence each has had on music and beyond.”

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 tally upon its release and went on to win five Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Best R&B Song, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and Best R&B Album.

3 Feet High and Rising, on the other hand, didn’t receive the same amount of commercial shine when it first dropped but has since been credited for giving art rap and progressive Hip Hop a boost like no other body of work before it. In 2010, the Library of Congress added the LP to the National Recording Registry on the basis of it being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

In related news, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Eric B & Rakim are among this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees.

The full list of artists nominated this year, which totals 15, was announced last month on the organization’s website and across its social channels. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest and Eric B & Rakim having all been nominated previously and returning to ballot once again.

Jamie Foxx Speaks For The First Time Since Hospitalization

Jamie Foxx Speaks For The First Time Since Hospitalization

Jamie Foxx has made his first public statement since being hospitalized last month, and wants fans to know he’s “feeling blessed” for the love he’s received.

Source: HipHopDX

Following weeks of hospitalization and receiving encouragement from friends and fans alike, the actor and singer took to Instagram on Wednesday (May 3) to say thanks for “all the love.”

“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” the 55-year-old wrote in his Instagram post.

Following his post, several friends and fans including Mary J. Blige, Ellen Degeneres, John Legend, wished the singer a speedy recovery in the comment section.

Jamie Foxx’s hospitalization was first announced by his daughter, Corinne Foxx, last month. She revealed he had experienced an unspecified “medical complication,” but was already on the mend.

“From the Foxx Family. We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she said in a statement. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

She added: “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, the Foxx Family.”

TMZ reported at the time that Jamie Foxx’s condition was serious enough that he had to be taken to the hospital, with members of his family visiting him. He was said to be “communicating now, and that’s good news.”

Billboard reports the streaming numbers for songs from Rihanna’s catalog experienced a 140% hike in the U.S. following Sunday’s performance. The two-day total jumped from 25.8 million streams to 62.2 million streams between February 10-11 and February 12-13.

In addition, the Barbadian R&B/Pop singer sold 42,000 downloads on February 12 and February 13. That amounts to a 473% increase from the 7,500 downloads on February 10 and February 11.

Rihanna did exceptionally well on Apple Music since Super Bowl LVII. Sunday was the Roc Nation artist’s all-time biggest streaming day on the platform. Her concurrent worldwide Apple Music listeners total jumped 331%.

Over on Spotify, nine Rihanna singles climbed into the Top 20 of the streamer’s Daily Top Songs USA chart dated February 13. That same day saw “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z climb 66 spots to #15 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart.

The NFL’s full Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show video on YouTube collected 51 million views in three days. Rihanna’s mid-game set included “B#### Better Have My Money,” “Work,” “Umbrella,” “Diamonds,” and other records from her discography.

Jack Harlow Trades Rap For The Triangle In Missy Elliott-Assisted Doritos Super Bowl Ad

Jack Harlow Trades Rap For The Triangle In Missy Elliott-Assisted Doritos Super Bowl Ad

Jack Harlow is in a new Doritos Super Bowl ad with Missy Elliott and it looks like the chips giant has helped the Louisville rapper discover a new love when it comes to music.

Missionary Jack puts his acting chops to the test in the big game clip unveiled in full on Wednesday (February 8). At first, Harlow struggles to find motivation in the studio until he stumbles upon the triangle, which is the same shape as a Doritos chip.

“It’s just not right,” he says in the clip. “Nah, I need to find something new.”

The 24-year-old sends the crowd into a frenzy when he shows off his unlikely triangle skills, but backstage Missy Elliott is questioning the move. “You gonna quit rap for a triangle,” Missy asks in disgust.

“I gotta do me, Missy,” Harlow states with Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” booming in the background.

The triangle craze sweeps the nation with radio legend Sway Calloway making a cameo but it all comes to a screeching halt for Harlow when he loses out on Triangle Player of the Year honors to Elton John to close the Super Bowl commercial.

Look for the entire Doritos ad to air on FOX on February 12 during Super Bowl LVII, which will be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Jack Harlow’s acting skills will also be put to the test in the upcoming White Men Can’t Jump reboot, which is set to land on Hulu on May 19.

A trailer arrived over the weekend showing the very first look at Harlow and his co-star Sinqua Walls in character.
