Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’: All 27 Tracks Ranked – Remixes Coming Soon!

Beyonce Cowboy Carter on EnjoyTheBEATZ.com

If you haven’t already, it’s officially time to trade in your silver and chrome outfits for chaps, lassos and rustic cowboy hats. On Friday (March 29), Beyoncé finally shared her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter album with the world.

Born out of “an experience that [she] had years ago where [she] did not feel welcomed,” Beyoncé’s latest record is a jaw-dropping ode to the breadth of regional and musical subcultures of the American South. From a fierce reimagining of Dolly Parton‘s classic “Jolene” to mind-blowing hybrids of country and house (“Riiverdance”), somehow, Cowboy Carter finds Beyoncé more experimental and more fearless than ever before.

Although the road to Cowboy Carter began with Queen Bey’s upbringing in Houston, TX and reached an inflection point during the 2016 CMA Awards, the Grammy winner formally kicked off the album campaign during the 2024 Super Bowl with the dual release of “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The former provided a gorgeous preview of the LP’s slower, more introspective moments, while the latter etched its name in the Billboard history books almost immediately. With “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Beyoncé became both the first Black woman to top Hot Country Songs and the first Black woman to send a country song to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Moreover, other Black women in country — including Reyna Roberts, Linda Martell and Tanner Adell — experienced streaming boosts thanks to “Texas.”

Both Martell and Adell appear on Cowboy Carter, alongside a star-studded list of collaborators that includes Miley Cyrus. Parton, Willie Nelson, Post Malone, Shaboozey, Willie Jones, The-Dream, Raphael Saadiq, Pharrell Williams and more. Presented as both the official follow-up to and “a continuation of” her Grammy-winning Billboard 200-topping Renaissance album, Cowboy Carter is just the latest in a decade-long string of projects that prove that Beyoncé is one of the all-time greats.

From the rousing “II Hands II Heaven” to the shape-shifting “Sweet ★ Honey ★ Buckiin,” here are all 27 tracks on Cowboy Carter ranked.

The Weeknd and Drake are often compared to one another as two dominant forces in the music industry hailing from Canada.

Abel got the best of Drizzy in this round to close out 2023, as his hit single “Starboy” surpassed Drake’s “One Dance” on the Spotify all-time charts.

Per Pop Crave, “Starboy” slid into sixth place on the list of the most-streamed songs on Spotify ever, with over 2.9 billion streams to push Drake’s bop one spot lower.

Drake and The Weeknd were also back-to-back when Spotify revealed its top streaming artists for 2023 last month with Abel taking the No. 3 spot — despite not having dropped an album in 2023 — and the 6 God right behind him at No. 4 with over 11 billion streams.

Drake took home plenty of hardware and accolades as well after another busy year with the release of his eighth studio album, For All The Dogs.

Drizzy won Spotify’s Hip Hop 2023 MVP honors over the likes of Metro Boomin, Lil Baby, 21 Savage and more in what appears to be a fan-voted award.

“The people have spoken. 2023’s #AllRapCaviar MVP is Drake,” RapCaviar‘s Instagram captioned a post to close out July.

Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss also wears the Spotify streaming collab crown as the 2022 joint project hit 2.7 billion streams in November, surpassing Watch The Throne‘s previous record of 2.6 billion.

The first joint album between the Toronto and Atlanta natives received mixed reviews upon release but was a commercial success, moving over 400,000 units in its first week of sales.

In the year since, the album has been certified double platinum by the RIAA and is nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Spotify Removes Tens of Thousands of A.I. Generated Songs

Spotify Removes Tens of Thousands of A.I. Generated Songs

Spotify is taking action against the current onslaught of A.I.-generated songs by reportedly removing a bunch of computer-generated tracks from its platform.

Source: XXLMag

The popular streaming platform has taken down tens of thousands of artificial intelligence songs created using start-up A.I. song creator company Boomy, XXL confirmed with a rep for Spotify on Wednesday (May 10). This reportedly equates to seven percent of the songs posted on the platform created by the service, which launched in 2019. The songs were removed flagged and removed not specifically for use of A.I. but for “artificial streaming”—a tactic that utilizes online bots to boost the audience numbers for particular songs.

“Artificial streaming is a longstanding, industry-wide issue that Spotify is working to stamp out across our service,” a rep for Spotify tells XXL about the move. “When we identify or are alerted to potential cases of stream manipulation, we mitigate their impact by taking action that may include the removal of streaming numbers and the withholding of royalties. This allows us to protect royalty payouts for honest, hardworking artists.”

XXL has reached out to Boomy for comment.

The trend of A.I.-generated songs is taking over the music industry, with faux tracks popping up everyday from some of your favorite artists, some of whom are no longer with us. Music conglomerate Universal Music Group is trying to get ahead of the trend. They have successfully petitioned to get numerous A.I.-generated songs from their artists removed from streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.

The A.I. song takeover has sparked a debate as to whether it’s a good or bad thing for the music industry.
